When you think about the beauty industry, it’s likely that you think about making people look more beautiful, right? Of course, that’s a fair assessment, but we think there’s another worthy definition: Making the earth more beautiful, too. After all, if our planet is in disharmony, it affects everything else, including our health and our beauty. So it’s no surprise that one of the core values at Zatik is our commitment to being a sustainable business. We know, that’s a broad term. So, let’s break it down.
As a small, family-owned business, we take our products very seriously—we only create and sell the highest quality and most effective natural beauty products that we painstakingly research. We also take every step to reduce our ecological footprint. We manufacture our products in-house, which means we work closely with our suppliers to source organic and ecologically prudent ingredients. We scrutinize packaging—both the design and materials—in order to make sure they’re the most efficient and most responsible choices. Our glass bottles are fully recyclable, and all of our boxes contain 70 percent recycled materials. Where we have to use plastic—shampoos and conditioners—we use recyclable (PE) plastic that’s free of phthalates and other toxic leaching chemicals. And we do our best to insure that our formulas are the highest quality products so that a little goes a very long way—extending the use of each and every product helps to reduce our overall impact, too. When a product works really well, you need less of it. For us as a business, that may mean you have to purchase our products less often, but for us as citizens of earth, it means we’re doing our part to decrease our impact on the planet, and yours. We think it’s a smart compromise.
Zatik is also a proud member of the Sustainable Business Council, located here in Los Angeles. It’s an organization that helps small businesses like ours connect with other businesses and sustainable resources. It’s also a constant source of inspiration that keeps us focused on our mission of delivering beauty products that make a difference. After all, what’s more beautiful than a healthy planet?
