The Story Behind Zatik Naturals
The Story Behind Zatik Naturals: Why a Ladybug, and Why Organic Actually Works
If you've come across our products at Whole Foods, Erewhon, or Mother's Market, you might be wondering what "Zatik" even means. It's a small word with a big story — and it explains almost everything about how we build our products.
Our Name Means Ladybug — On Purpose
Zatik is Armenian for ladybug. In many cultures, the ladybug is a symbol of renewal, protection, and regeneration. When we started this company more than fifteen years ago, that symbolism wasn't an afterthought — it became the standard we held every product to.
We didn't want to build another brand that used the word "natural" loosely. We wanted to prove that organic formulations could genuinely outperform, not just feel good on a label. Every product we've released since has been held to that promise.
What Makes Our Black Seed Oil Different
One ingredient sits at the center of the Zatik story: black seed oil (nigella sativa). It's been used in traditional wellness practices for centuries, and modern research has continued to validate many of the properties that made it valuable in the first place.
Here's what sets ours apart:
- USDA Certified Organic sourcing — our black seed oil is sourced from certified organic farms in Europe, not blended with fillers or diluted with lower-grade oils.
- Extraction that protects the ingredient — we use methods designed to preserve the oil's naturally occurring compounds, rather than high-heat processes that can degrade them.
- Two formats, one ingredient — available as softgels for daily convenience or liquid oil for those who prefer to incorporate it directly into their routine
